Calling all fanatical and passionate film producers, flamboyant cultivators of
the moving image! Five Minutes of Fire challenges you to create and submit
short films around the theme of Desire. Part of ‘The Compass of Desire
Festival’, Five Minutes of Fire will bring together film-makers from far and
wide to exhibit their work in Bristol.
Five Minutes of Fire is exploring the realms of desire in the broadest
possible sense. From sex, lust and love to commodity obsession and a deep
nostalgia for the past. Judged by a panel of industry experts, awards will be
for Best Film, Audience Award, Local Film-maker and Youth Award.
Guidelines- All entries must be received by Monday 3rd August 2009. Five
Minutes of Fire regrets that entries received after this date will not be
considered
- All successful entries to be exhibited and included in the
competition will be notified by Sunday 30th August 2009
- Running time of all
entries must be under five minutes or less to qualify for the
competition
- All entries must be addressed Five Minutes of Fire Competition
and sent to Five Minutes of Fire, Compass Film CIC, 10 Ashley Road, Bristol,
BS6 5NP
- Please submit DVD preview copy, even if the festival screening
format is also DVD
- Please submit completed entry form duly signed &
dated (failure to sign and date a form may result an entry being disqualified
from selection)
- There is a space on the entry form for you to provide your
own editorial for the film’s programme notes, should it be selected for final
screening. We reserve the right to edit this text as we see
appropriate
- Films must be submitted on one of the following formats: DVD,
Mini DV or full quality DV Quicktime files
- All deliveries from outside the
EU to be indicated as 'non-commercial value – for cultural purposes
only'
- Applicants must cover the cost of shipping entry form and screening
copy
- Five Minutes of Fire regrets that they are not able to return copies
of films submitted
