Short films are looking for to come in the first part of feature films screening events in Paris.

They have to be experimental, dark or off-beat, 3 or 4 minutes long, but non-commercial type of short films.

They will be screened at la Cantada , 13 rue Moret, Menilmontant Tube station.

The last event will be on the 16th of September 2008.

North London Film Fund - The boroughs of Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington are working together to provide local residents with training, development, and funding for new and emerging filmmakers.

The scheme will offer:

A training programme for people of all experience and ability which will provide the skills to develop and produce a short film.
An opportunity for new and developing filmmakers to apply for grants of up to �3000 to make a short film.

Deadline for applications: 19 September 2008

The North London Film Fund Selection Panel will make a decision on your application by Monday 13th October.

The search is on for one Director and one Producer to make the Micro Movie Lab user-generated feature film NEGOTIATING LIFE! MMF cordially invite UK members to video pitch their submissions in accordance with the set briefs on the website. ***PLEASE NOTE THAT APPLICATIONS CAN ONLY BE ACCEPTED FROM PRODUCERS & DIRECTORS BASED IN THE UK***

You must be able to assure the online funding community that you can deliver an earth-shatteringly brilliant movie on a shoestring budget, so some relevant and demonstrable experience will be necessary.   

Video submissions will face a member�s vote and will be subject to a Jury decision as in previous rounds. Deadline Sept 30th 2008.

Wandsworth Film Awards in partnership with Westminster Arts Bursary Awards 2008.

The Film Awards are now open with grants of up to �4,000 available towards the production of a short film.

Deadline for submissions is September 5th.

This year will be the fourteenth awards we have supported. There have been many successes with films funded so far, including the Sky Short Film of the Year 2000 and the 2003 selection for the highly prestigious Semaine de la Critique at the Cannes Film Festival. Ffilmic is a Film Festival happening in Llanfyllin full of films, workshops and talks.

Ffilmic is held at Theatr Llwyn, Llanfyllin High School and Llanfyllin Lesiure Centre Gym.

Ffilmic is funded by the Film Agency for Wales with support from Arts Council of Wales and Lake Vyrnwy Hotel.

The Ffilmic Take 2 Ten Day Film Challenge is offering all filmmakers in the UK the opportunity to participate.

The challenge will kick off @
6.00pm, Friday 19th September
Theatr Llwyn, Llanfyllin

Each team will be given a film genre, a prop and a line of dialogue that must appear in the film.

You will then have until 5pm Tuesday 30th September to write, cast, shoot, edit and deliver your film back to Ffilmic.

Ffilmic Take 2 is free to enter and open to individuals and groups, each team entering will receive 2 free passes to the Ffilmic film festival in Llanfyllin 24 � 25 October 2008.

There are three categories for Film entry:
Under 12, 12 � 17, 18+

Une petite question. Dans les ann�es pr�c�dentes j'ai rat� le passage au hdv, rentabilisant jusqu'� la moelle la dv et mini-dv tri-ccd. Mais il faut savoir �tre raisonnable, �a ne peut plus dur�. J'allais faire le choix de la Z1 de sony ou la XH A1 de Canon. Mais depuis quelques temps d�j�, je vois que pas mal de prod ont choisi les cam�ras HD � disque dur du type sony XDCAM-EX. Un peu plus cher certes. Mais si c'�tait le bon choix? Quelqu'un pour me conseiller?

Applications are now being invited to the New Pathways Film Fund. There are 15 places available on the training scheme and 6 Bursaries of �1,500.

The New Pathways Film Fund is a partnership between the London Boroughs Of Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Newham and is part of the London Borough Film Fund Challenge.

New Pathways is a director led training programme for 15 new entrants to film designed to take participants to the first stage of filmmaking, looking at new techniques and technologies and exploring alternative routes of exhibition and distribution.

Application closing date: 5pm Wednesday 17 September 2008.

VIVID has announced the second phase of its participation in a project to support cutting edge artist research residencies throughout Europe from 2008 - 2009.

With support from the European Union Culture 2007 - 2013 programme the European Media Art Network will give 16 production awards to emerging media art talent to explore the creative possibilities of innovative content for new media platforms.

Media artists in the fields of digital media (including internet and computer based art, video and sound) are invited to apply for a two month residency in 2009 with one of the following partner organisations: Netherlands � Impakt, Germany - Werkleitz Gesellschaft, Bulgaria - Interspace, UK - VIVID.

The deadline for applications is Monday 20 October.

Lighthouse is seeking proposals for an artists' moving image commission, to support a UK-based emerging artist.

Lighthouse will preview and showcase the final commissioned piece at Lighthouse during CINECITY, the Brighton Film Festival 20 November to 7 December. The work will be exhibited in the Lighthouse building, as well as being screened as part of CINECITY. There will also be an opportunity to show previous work in an exhibition format.

The closing date for proposals is 5pm, 26 August 2008.

You have until the 10th of September to register for the BFI 24h Challenge.

The event will take place on the 12th of September 2008, you will have to come at the BFI Southbank cinema reception at 8am with your crew and cast, pick out a random theme and title, make your film and come back with the final result the next day at 8am.

You can talk about anything, society, politic, environment, etc. and your film can be of any length or format.

The Deadline for the feature films is over, but for the short film it is still on, until the 31st of August 2008.

C comme tout, faut connaitre les r�gles pour t'en lib�rer.
D'un point de vue temp�rature, tu dois avoir des lumi�res ou bien qui �claire fa�on lumi�re int�rieur ou artificielle(2600 K et 3400 K - le K c'est le Kelvin, l'unit� de temp�rature pour la lumi�re), ou des halog�nes pour de la lumi�re du jour (5400K par exemple).
Parmi les lumi�res utilis�es dans les tournages, il y a:

La mandarine, avec une ampoule � 3400K (lumi�re artificielle) et 800W de puissance
La blonde, m�me temp�rature que la mandarine, mais avec une puissance de 200W
La Fresnel, d�j� plus lourd comme �clairage, qui cible plus que les blondes ou les mandarines (qui ont tendance � se disperser), avec une temp�rature �quivalente, mais une puissance qui va de 500W � 10kW!
le HMI, toujours plus balaise, 5600K de temp�rature (lumi�re du jour) et une puissance qui va jusqu'� 18kW. Assez encombrant toutefois.
Enfin les kinos ou autres boites � lumi�res, des s�ries de tubes qui reproduisent une lumi�re froide (du jour) mais tr�s �tale, moins agressive.

Bien s�r, en utilisant des g�latines (sorte de calques transparents de couleur) on peut changer la temp�rature. Et les r�flecteurs du type polystyr�ne ou parapluie modifient �galement la couleur et la puissance.

The forumdoc.bh.2008 accepts films and videos that have been produced in the last two years of various exhibition formats and length. Submissions must be done by August 31th and the application form is available at the website.

The Documentary and Ethnographic Film Festival of Belo Horizonte, Brazil, is released along the interest of making it known by documentary production centers, independent producers, universities, research centers and other festivals. The juries merge researchers, producers and film critics to discuss about the documentaries submitted.
